The 40th Annual Day Celebrations

Member of Parliament Shri. Suresh Gopi who is also a popular and versatile actor inaugurated the 40th Annual Day Celebrations on the 9th Feb 2019 and addressed the audience. H.H. Swami Viviktananda Saraswathi, Regional Head, Chinmaya Mission, Kerala exhorted the audience to imbibe the principles enshrined in the Chinmaya Vision Programme, through his presidential address. This was followed by an explosion of talents in the form of ‘Kaladarshika’ where students right from Pre-KG to Std XII were given a platform to exhibit their inherent potentials in music, dance, drama, comedy etc., individually and in large and small groups. The Ruby Jubilee celebrations culminated with the grand finale on 8th and 9th Feb 2019. A visual treat of the folk Arts of Kerala was arranged in the Vidyalaya for the students

The same evening a cultural fiesta was inaugurated by Smt. KPAC Lalitha, Chairperson of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy in the presence of our Acharya H.H.Swami Gabheeranandaji. The teachers, alumni and parents showcased their talents and creativity through solo and group performances enthralling the audience.

Ruby Jubilee inauguration ceremony

Chinmaya Vidyalaya Thrissur inaugurated the observance of its Ruby jubilee Year (40th Year ) on 30th July 2018 . It was an occasion to both commemorate and cherish those experiences that allowed us to grow and to go beyond all expectations. The function began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by H.H Swami Viviktananda Saraswathi, Regional Head –Chinmaya Mission Kerala State. The inaugural address by the Chief Guest Sri Jayarajan Rajasekharan Nair, a National award winning film director. It was rightly decided to begin the programmes connected with the Ruby jubilee by honouring four eminent and erudite GURU’s in various fields through ‘GURUVANDANAM”. We hope their blessing and guidance will help us scale greater heights in the years to come.

Chinmaya Vidyalaya can boast of an addition to its list of innovations. We have introduced a monthly newsletter ‘Chinmaya Vani’ encapsulating the activities of the Vidyalaya along with the creative contribution of the students. These news letters were compiled and created by the Fine Arts Vice Captains. It was released in a solemn function.

Co A lecture cum demonstration of Bengali folk – Purulia Chhau was held by renowned Artiste Shri Tarapada Rajak and team in our Vidyalaya premises under the aegies of SPICMACAY(Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth). Around 500 students were exposed to this programme much to their awe and delight

Talk on Cyber crime

Sri MujeebRahman LLB LLM (IP) sub judge Thrissur secretary DLSA, addressed the students of class XI on the topic :”Cyber Crime” on 22nd January 2018. The talk was very informative, punctuated with real life incidents, happening in our state.

Book Fair

Our Principal inaugurated a book fair by Scholastic on 29th and 30th January 2018. A large number of books were exhibited in the fair.

Annual Day

The 39th Annual day was celeberated on 14th February 2018. The chief guest of the day was Dr V VUnnikrishnan Dean, University of Health Science. Our Vice Principal welcomed the gathering. Our Principal presented the Annual report followed by the inaugural address by the Chief Guest. Our Director G Mukundanhonoured retiring Principal SmtShobhanaDevadas on this august occasion. SmtNirmalaHaridas teacher of Commerce Departmentwas also honoured on her retirement from service. The Head boy and Head Girl shared their reminiscences. The formal programme came to an end with the vote of thanks by our Headmistress. It was followed by a cultural fiesta by the students which was well appreciated by the well-wishers for the maximum participation and grandeur.

Magic Show

Magician, Escapologist, motivational spearker Sri Gopinath Muthukad, addressed the students of the Vidyalaya on 9th November 2017. Through different anecdotes and life changing experiences Sri Muthukad mesmerized the audience with various magic tricks. He made the children to take a pledge not to use drugs, alcohols and other intoxicants..

Talent Time 2017

Talent time 2017 was formally inaugurated on 28th July 2017. The highlight was a tabala performance by the Alumna, Akhila S Kumar of 2017 batch.

Rubella Campaign

Nursery to Tenth standard Students of the Vidyalaya have taken Rubella Measles Vaccination. The campaign was organized by the Local Health center as part of Rubella Measles Vaccination campaign conducted by Govt of India.

Manipuri Dance

Vidyalaya organised a Manipuri dance under the aegis of SPICMACAY on 10.10.17

Book Fair

Principal inaugurated book fair by Great Books on 19th and 20th October 2017. A large number of books were exhibited in the fair.

Deshabhimani “Aksharamuttam” was inaugurated in our auditorium in the presence of 9th standard students.

Malayala Manorama “Vayanakalari” was inaugurated in our auditorium in the presence of 8th standard students.

Donning the Mantle of Leadership

The investiture ceremony was held in the Vidyalaya auditorium on June 4th at 10.30 am. Commander PJaisankar, Construction Wing, Naval Academy, Cochin, inaugurated and honoured the newly elected office bearers. Our Principal, Smt.Shobhana Devdas, welcomed the gathering and Vice Principal Smt. Shobha Menon, officiated the ceremony. Smt.Anitha .V.N, HOD of the English Department, proposed the vote of thanks.

Malayala Manorama - VAYANAKALARI

Malayala Manorama “VAYANAKALARI” was inaugurated by Sri.Jos Alukkas, Chairman of Jos Alukkas group and Jos Alukkas Foundation on 27th July 2016 at Chinmaya Balakrishna. Smt. Asha, Chemistry department welcomed the gathering. The circulation inspector Sri. M. Nandakumar introduced the programme, spoke about the importance of reading. The aim of the programme was to encourage children to read in their mothertongue.

National Deworming Day

In connection with National deworming day, Pambur Health Department distributed ALbenbazole [400 mg] tablets to all the children of the school. The tablets were given to the children after lunch.

Inauguration of the Basketball court

Inauguration of the renovated held Basketball court was held in the Vidyalaya on 17th August in the presence of HH Swami Gabeeranandaji, Aacharya, Chinmaya Mission, Thrissur and Dr.V Venugopal -, Trustee Treasurer, CMECT, Neeranjali, Thrissur, Director of Education, Dr.G Mukundan, Management members of CMECT and former alumni. The guest of the day was Sri P.C Antony, Former coach of Indian Junior Asian Basketball Championship team. On the same day, Joby N Joseph and Akhiljith T.S, White lines Sports, Management and construction who were involved in the construction work were honoured by the Management or their committed services. A friendly match between our alumni and present students played.

National Sports Day

National Sports Day was observed in the Vidyalaya in the morning assembly. Students from senior classes donned the personalities of various sportspersons and gave their inspiring messages to the rest of the school.

Awareness programme conducted by Avishkar Trust

Avishkar Trust, a non Govt. voluntary organization and Lions’ Club International, Thrissur screened a documentary film “INI NJAN PARAYETTE” for classes 10 and 11 students. It was in connection with a sensitization campaign on Drugs. The inaugural sessions of the programme was presided over by Excise Officer- in- charge, Thrissur, Sri CR Padmakumar.Thrissur Lions club international president Sri James Valappila and Manappuram felicitated the campaign. It was followed by an address by Sri V Gopinath, the secretary in charge, Avishkar Trust Thrissur. The Lions Club officials handed over the box which is to be placed in the school for collecting confidential information regarding drug abuse. Saplings of fruit trees and two dustbins were contributed by the Lions Club, Thrissur. After the screening of the documentary there was a session on personality development by Ln. V Ramachandran, the District Chairperson of Lions Club International.

Merit Day

Merit day celebrations were held in the school auditorium on 18th June 2015 at 10.am. H.H. Swami Gabeeranda lit the ceremonial lamp and Dr. Venugopal felicitated the young achievers. Dr.P.V.Balachandran - Register-Kerala Agriculture University inaugurated the function and honored the achievers. Toppers of AISSCE and AISSE 2015 as well as the subject toppers of AISSCE were honored. Students who received the endowments were also honored. The program ended with the school pledge by the Head boy and the Head girl.

Reading Day

Reading day was observed in the school on 19th June 2015, .We had an assembly where students read out the importance of reading in our life. Best readers were honoured in the morning assembly. Students prepared charts which were displayed in the assembly portico. On the same day the last period was observed as DEAR (Drop everything and read).


Elections for the school council: The senior students of the Vidyalaya had a firsthand experience of election procedures. The Chief Election Commissioner along with Presiding Officer , Polling Officer and Duty Officer have setup separate polling booths for the different houses which are Ganga , Cauvery, Godavary and Yamuna. Election Day was fixed on 20th June."Learning by doing leaves a indelible mark in the young voters mind."

Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony -2015 was held on 6thJuly 2015 in the school auditorium .The program was inaugurated by Shri.M.K.Pushkaran IPS, Assistant director, Kerala Police Academy Thrissur.

International Anti-Narcotics Day

26th of June is observed as international anti-narcotics day. As a part of this a speech was delivered along with an oath taking by the students to stay away from drugs.


Mathrubhoomi with Vaidyarathnam at "Nakshatrabhoomi" as part of the SEED Project on 10th September 2015 at the auditorium of Chinmaya Vidyalaya. Smt. Jayalakshmi .K.M. coordinator of SEED Project welcomed the gathering. Our director of Education Dr. G. Mukundan gave the Presidential address. Sri. C. C. Sreekumar, District Panchayat President Thrissur inaugurated the project and handed over the sapling plant . Dr. Pramod Varma and Anil Kumar handled the session on the importance of Ayurveda and plants corresponding to birth stars.

Madhuram Malayalam

Mathrubhoomi 'Madhuram Malayalam' was inauguration by Sri. K. P. Saseedharan, the Coordinator, Narayans Ashramam Thapovanam on 14th September in the Vidyalaya. Shri. Sreekanth M. the marketing executive, Mathrubhoomi introduced the programme and spoke about the importance of reading and Narayans Thapovanam Ashram. The programme 'Madhuram Malayalam' had an auspicious start when Saseedharan handed over the Mathrubhoomi newspaper to the principal.

Kalotsav 2015

Inauguration and valedictory function of the Thrissur District CBSE Kalotsav was held on 28th October 2015. Students from our Vidyalaya participated in various events.
