As part of SEED Project, students of the Vidyalaya wrapped vegetable seeds in the waste papers collected from the classrooms and these 'SEED Chocolates' were distributed among the students as they were instructed to disperse at home. A group of students also dispersed these seed chocolates in the compound near the Vidyalaya, so that these seed chocolates germinate and grow into plants. This activity was aimed to reduce the use of plastic and air pollution by not burning paper.
A food fest 'Arogyanidhi' - Nadan ruchi Mela, was organized in the Vidyalaya on 21st of November 2019 for classes 7 and 8. This was to create awareness on the importance of homemade nutritious food and avoid excess consumption of junk food. Students, with help from their parents, prepared mouthwatering nutritious delicacies with plant parts.
In order to inculcate the values of the honest among children a Honest shop was inaugurated by M L A Sri Anil Akkara on 9.10.19 , In the shop children can buy stationery by dropping the labelled price money in the cash box with out the supervision of the any person.
'The reading club was inaugurated by the Vice Principal Smt. Shobha Menon on 20th July, 2016 in the auditorium. In the inaugural address, the Vice Principal stressed the importance of reading to enrich our knowledge. The uniqueness of the programme was the colorful presentations like poetry in motion [Veenapoovu] by Malayalam dept., skit on Ages of English literature by English dept., depiction of prominent writers by Hindi and Sanskrit dept. etc..
School vegetable gardening for the year 2016 -2017 started on 22nd July 2016. Seeds were provided by Kolazhy Krishi Bhavan. Vegetable garden members of class 7 sowed the seeds. It was coordinated by Smt. Babitha S.
A visit to IRTC at Mundur, Palakkad was organized by the Vidyayala's Eco club. A group of 35 students belonging to the Eco club visited IRTC on November 15th 2015. They gained firsthand knowledge on cultivation.
The day was observed in the Vidyalaya on June 6th. Our Honourable Chief Guest Smt. Jalaja S. Menon, Assistant Professor, Kerala Agricultural University addressed the students emphasizing the need to conserve soil and to protect wildlife. She was presented with a memento comprising of a paper bag, seeds, and vermicompost packet and sandal wood sapling. A poster making competition along with a Rangoli competition was held and the winners were presented with ginger saplings. The assembly ended with a pledge to protect the environment.
